Plan-Check Support Structural Engineering.

When a project comes back from the building department with structural corrections, we step in. The deliverable is a comment-by-comment response, revised calculations and drawings, and the resubmittal package that closes the structural scope out.

What's included

Engineering scope for plan-check support

  • Review of the plan-check letter and existing structural set
  • Diagnosis: which comments need calc updates, which need drawing edits, which need both
  • Comment-by-comment written response keyed to the corrections list
  • Revised structural calculations and revised, re-stamped drawings
  • Coordination with the architect of record and original engineer if needed
  • Follow-up rounds until the structural scope is approved

FAQ

Plan-Check Support — questions, answered

Can you take over plan-check on a project we didn't originally design?
Yes. We'll review the original set, sign a takeover engagement, and become the engineer of record for the structural scope going forward.
What if the corrections require redesign, not just clarifications?
We scope the redesign separately from comment responses, so you see exactly what's clerical and what's actual engineering work. The proposal calls it out before we start.
Do you respond to deferred-submittal reviews (trusses, cold-formed steel, glazing)?
We respond to structural deferred-submittal comments when they intersect our scope, and coordinate with the specialty engineer when the comment belongs to them.
Can you handle out-of-state jurisdictions we haven't worked with before?
Yes. We're PE-licensed across multiple U.S. states and confirm jurisdiction-specific amendments before we touch the corrections.
